Join Collard City Growers for our annual seed swap to start building towards spring awakening and growth. Bring seeds to share if you have them, or just come to take some home! This year’s seed swap will take place alongside the People’s Health Sanctuary monthly Healing Day at the Sanctuary main space, and will feature a table by Soul Fire Farm, who will bring seeds and knowledge to share!

Have you ever saved seeds from your garden to plant again? Maybe you’ve purchased seeds in the past, but didn’t use them all, and are ready to pass them on? Just curious about seeds? Join us! There’s no need to bring seeds or have any knowledge of seed-keeping to attend–you can also join for company, conversation, and learning! We’ll have food to enjoy together, a kiddo corner, and various healing modalities available by donation thanks to the People’s Health Sanctuary. We’re also excited to host a table by Soul Fire Farm, whose seed saving program you can read about below!

“At Soul Fire Farm, we grow dozens of native crops alongside culturally significant crops from African, Indigenous, and Palestinian lineages. Joining a global movement of land workers and Indigenous peoples working to defend seed sovereignty against an increasingly monopolized and homogenized seed industry, we save 8-10 seed varieties annually for distribution through the Truelove Seeds and Ujamaa Seeds catalogues. Grounded in an understanding of seeds as inextricably linked with their heritages and histories, we engage with seedkeeping not only as ecological preservation, but also cultural and political work.
