Raw, extreme and revolutionary, saxophonists Fred Ho and Dr. Salim Washington will concertize with interactive video on the nature and ecology of anti-manifest destiny Marxist visions.  This is a not-to-be-missed event in which the Original Asiatic Black Man meets the Original Africanistic Yellow Man for a convocation of revolutionary love, imagination and musical ecstasy. Rescheduled from Fall 2010.

Fred Ho is the 2009-2010 Harvard Arts Medalist (only 16 have been awarded in Harvard’s 400 year history), and the American Music Center’s Letter of Distinction recipient.

He is author of five books including his latest, DIARY OF A RADICAL CANCER WARRIOR: FIGHTING CANCER AND CAPITALISM AT THE CELLULAR LEVEL (Sky Horse Publishing).

Fred Ho has 20 recordings as a leader (including his latest YEAR OF THE TIGER featuring his Green Monster Big Band), creator of the dvd THE BLACK PANTHER SUITE and the latest innovative new manga-illustrated book-cd project DEADLY SHE-WOLF ASSASSIN AT ARMAGEDDON!/MOMMA’S SONG (Innova Recordings).
Dr. Salim Washington received is doctorate from Harvard University and is Professor of African American Music at Brooklyn College.

He is founding member of the Scientific Soul Sessions and co-author with Farah Jasmine Griffin of CLAWING AT THE LIMITS OF COOL (St. Martins Press) a seminal book about the interaction of John Coltrane and Miles Davis.

Dr. Washington is collaborating with Fred Ho on the break-through book, SO WHAT? “JAZZ” AND THE REVOLUTIONARY IMAGINATION, a theorization of what makes Black Music quintessentially revolutionary.
