SUMMARY:Exhibition at the Underground Gallery with Agricultural Stewardship Association: "Kids\, Farm\, Photography: Connecting with the Land"
DESCRIPTION:Connecting with the Land (on view from March 22 – June 15\, 2013)  is a photography exhibit that lets us experience local farms through the eyes of youth. The photos were taken during photography classes at farms in Rensselaer and Washington counties. The Farm Photography for Kids is a program by the Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) a community-supported land trust dedicated to protecting our local farmland from encroaching development. High school students in photography classes visited rural farms in Rensselaer and Washington counties\, while urban youth involved in the Capital District Community Gardens Produce Project documented their 8th Street Farm in Troy and Soul Fire Farm in Grafton. With special guests from the Produce Project and Agricultural Stewardship Association.  \n\n\n\nReception food prepared by Produce Project and KitchenSanctuary.

DESCRIPTION:The Nazis imprisoned him. The Vatican tried to silence him. Celebrate the powerful story of renegade gay priest John McNeil and the founding of the outcast gay Catholic group\, Dignity. Taking a Chance on God (2011) follows the extraordinary life of 87-year-old John McNeill from his Buffalo\, NY boyhood through his experiences as a Prisoner of War in Nazi Germany\, his Le Moyne College years as Jesuit professor and Vietnam peace promoter\, leading gay rights advocate\, and loving partner of 47 years to Charles Chiarelli. McNeill\, author\, founder of the LGBT Catholic group Dignity/New York\, and a gay community leader during the AIDS crisis of the 1980s\, refused to be silenced by the Vatican on LGBT issues. This resulted in his expulsion from the Jesuit priesthood.

DESCRIPTION:Throughout Richard Nixon’s presidency\, three of his top White House aides obsessively documented their experiences with Super 8 home movie cameras. Young\, idealistic and dedicated\, they had no idea that a few years later they’d all be in prison. This unique and personal visual record\, created by H.R. Haldeman\, John Ehrlichman and Dwight Chapin\, was seized by the FBI during the Watergate investigation\, then filed away and forgotten for almost 40 years. Musical performances by Bell’s Roar\, and Oobleck. TBR is an all-volunteer\, not-for-profit bike collective dedicated to removing bikes from the waste stream and making bicycling an accessible form of transportation. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAnother year\, another BikeFest! Come celebrate with Troy’s bike-friendly community and help keep Troy Bike Rescue doors open as a volunteer-run bicycle resource center for all-ages.
