SUMMARY:HMM Community Radio Day
DESCRIPTION:Community Radio Days are opportunities for folks to gather around the importance of community radio. Every month a different Hudson Mohawk Magazine producer leads a discussion or exercise\, and anyone is welcome to join. Topics range from how to create grassroots radio\, pursuing a story\, creating a community\, and amplifying lesser heard voices. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer producer or if you just want to be a part of community around the importance of civic journalism\, join us!  \n\n\n\nHMM Community Radio Days take place on the first Monday of each month (unless it’s a holiday)\, and we serve some light food and beverages. If you are interested in joining the discussion but are remote\, please email HMM@mediasanctuary.org in advance.  \n\n\n\nTimeline:4:00-4:30pm: arrive\, meet our producers\, get some food\, settle in4:30-6:00pm: group discussion (this takes place in our basement in the colder months. No experience needed – just bring your curiosity and commitment to building a stronger community together. SUMMARY:CCG Community Work & Play Days
DESCRIPTION:Drop in to Collard City Growers where we have activities for families and garden tasks for our adult volunteers. Community Work & Play Days take place on the 3rd Friday of each month\, during the regular CCG Open Garden Hours which take place every Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm\, from May through October.  \n\n\n\nJoin us in tending\, harvesting\, and caring for the plants and the land\, or just take some time to rest amongst greenery and appreciate the gifts of the garden. These open hours are family-oriented and open to all!

SUMMARY:Summer Herbal Series: Tree Medicine
DESCRIPTION:with Heidi Woolever\n\n\n\nStep into the vibrant green world of Troy’s summer forests and discover the powerful medicine trees offer in their peak season. This workshop invites you to deepen your connection with nature and learn how to safely identify\, harvest\, and prepare tree-based remedies.  Our primary focus will be on white pine\, and elder trees\, ethnobotany\, identification and preparation methods. Together we will make an elderflower tincture for you to bring home. Wear pants and walking shoes\, bring gloves and a basket or a bag. Join me to learn about our tree neighbors. No experience necessary!  \n\n\n\nLimited spots available. Registration with a $10 refundable deposit is required to hold your place. Donations recommended on a sliding scale of $0 – 30; no one will be turned away for lack of funds. \n\n\n\n\nRegister with a $10 refundable deposit\n\n\n\n\nAbout the facilitator\n\n\n\nHeidi Woolever is a high school agriculture teacher\, retired farmer and longtime student of herbalism. Raised mostly on Onondagan land (Syracuse)\, she currently resides on Mohican land (Troy) where she deeply values being part of a vibrant community.  \n\n\n\nThis series is facilitated by herbalists affiliated with the People’s Health Sanctuary Community Apothecary who are volunteering their time and sharing information for educational purposes. None of the remedies shared in these workshops are intended to diagnose or treat any disease.  \n\n\n\nAccess: The workshop series is held on the second floor of the NATURE Lab building\, which is currently only accessible by a flight of stairs.
