DESCRIPTION:Community Radio Days are opportunities for folks to gather around the importance of community radio. Every month a different Hudson Mohawk Magazine producer leads a discussion or exercise\, and anyone is welcome to join. Topics range from how to create grassroots radio\, pursuing a story\, creating a community\, and amplifying lesser heard voices. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer producer or if you just want to be a part of community around the importance of civic journalism\, join us!  \n\n\n\nHMM Community Radio Days take place on the first Monday of each month (unless it’s a holiday)\, and we serve some light food and beverages. If you are interested in joining the discussion but are remote\, please email HMM@mediasanctuary.org in advance.  \n\n\n\nTimeline:4:00-4:30pm: arrive\, meet our producers\, get some food\, settle in4:30-6:00pm: group discussion (this takes place in our basement in the colder months. SUMMARY:POSTPONED: Summer Herbal Series: Aromatics and the Nervous System
DESCRIPTION:with Brooke Bridges of Unearthing Wellness\n\n\n\nThis event is postponed until fall. Stay tuned for a new date! \n\n\n\nJoin Brooke for a walk in the Collard City Growers garden where we’ll meet and learn about aromatic plants and how aromatics can directly impact emotions and mood. After a group harvesting session\, we’ll return to the People’s Health Sanctuary where Brooke will teach us how to make hydrosols from our freshly harvested herbs. A hydrosol is a floral water that is essentially a byproduct of making essential oils. Many people will throw the floral water away\, but floral waters aka hydrosols contain their own medicinal benefits. Participants will leave with a bottle of hydrosol to take home with them\, as well as learn how to naturally preserve hydrosols. \n\n\n\nLimited spots available. Registration with a $10 refundable deposit is required to hold your place. Donations recommended on a sliding scale of $0 – 30; no one will be turned away for lack of funds. \n\n\n\nAbout the facilitator\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitator Bio: Brooke Marie Bridges is an herbalist\, CBT and Somatic therapy specialist\, wellness coach\, and all natural botanical product alchemist dedicated to blending the healing modalities of herbs with essential cognitive\, mental\, and emotional health practices. SUMMARY:CCG Community Work & Play Days
DESCRIPTION:Drop in to Collard City Growers where we have activities for families and garden tasks for our adult volunteers. Community Work & Play Days take place on the 3rd Friday of each month\, during the regular CCG Open Garden Hours which take place every Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm\, from May through October.  \n\n\n\nJoin us in tending\, harvesting\, and caring for the plants and the land\, or just take some time to rest amongst greenery and appreciate the gifts of the garden. These open hours are family-oriented and open to all!

No experience needed – just bring your curiosity and commitment to building a stronger community together.
