SUMMARY:Sonagi Project 
DESCRIPTION:Sonagi Project is a Korean percussion ensemble that draws from traditional sources to create new\, dynamic Korean music. Founded in 2006 by current artistic director Chang Jae Hyo\, the group performs on traditional Korean percussion instruments\, with a special focus on the janggu\, the horizontal double-headed drum that has been integral to many genres of Korean music throughout its long history. Other instruments include the kkwaengwari (small gong)\, jing (medium-sized gong)\, and dungbuk (modified barrel drum). The group breathes new life into Korea’s traditional drumming as it brings these instruments into the twenty-first century\, performing traditionally-based yet original repertoire for contemporary audiences\, both domestically and abroad. Sonagi Project will perform at Freedom Square as part of StoryHarvest: 2nd Annual Celebration of Art and Food from Seed to Table\, and will join in the community parade with Bread and Puppet Theater from 3-4 pm!

DESCRIPTION:The Circus of the Possibilitarians is a satirical horse and butterfly circus\, addressing pertinent national and international issues in a clownish fashion\, including rotten ideas\, a wild dancing horse and some mellow lions\, a solemn salute to the world’s casualties and much more! The Dire Circumstance Jubilation Ensemble provides a little bit of brass and a lot of noise. Please take note that if some of the circus acts are politically puzzling to adults\, accompanying children can usually explain them. The performance\, which will take place at Freedom Square\, is part of the Second Annual StoryHarvest Celebration of Art and Food from Seed to Table.

SUMMARY:"Nosferatu" Screening with Live Accompaniment by the Andrew Alden Ensemble
DESCRIPTION:Many horror film fanatics call Nosferatu (1922)\, F.W. Murnau’s silent German classic starring Max Schreck–who sports grotesque makeup that transforms him into a symbol of pestilence and decay–the scariest Dracula adaptation ever. The film was shot in the Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania during the early days of film. The chilling tale kicks off when a real estate agent (Gustav von Wangenheim) begins conducting business with eerie Count Orlok (Schreck)\, who goes on a rampage when he becomes obsessed with the man’s comely wife (Greta Schröder). The new score\, performed live by the Andrew Alden Ensemble\,  compliments the horror of the film and the classic story of Dracula with the sensibilities of chamber music and the distinct edge of rock and roll! The ensemble features: Piano/synthesizer: Andrew Alden; Violin/viola: Beltran Del Campo; Guitar/percussion: Ryan Meyer; Guitar: John Forrestal; Drums: Andy Cantu.  This screening is made possible in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts Electronic Media and Film program\, volunteer labor\, and small financial contributions from thousands of patrons of The Sanctuary for Independent Media.

DESCRIPTION:Join filmmakers Eron Davidson and Ana Noguiera for a screening of Roadmap to Apartheid (2012)\, a riveting new film that juxtaposes the rise and fall of apartheid in South Africa with the harsh reality of life in Palestine today. Davidson is a Jewish Israeli\, while Noguiera is a white South African.  Both live in the United States now. While Davidson has made other films before\, and is a media activist\, this was Noguiera’s first film. Noguiera was a producer for Democracy Now! as well as active in other forms of media. The screening will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Dr. Barry Trachtenberg\, Director of the SUNY Albany Judaic Studies Program and Associate Professor in the Department of History. Co-sponsored by the Palestinian Rights Committee. This project is made possible in part with public funds from the NYSCA Electronic Media and Film Presentation Funds Grant program\, administered by the ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.

His recent reporting on the fatal shooting of a retired Marine in White Plains cracked a tightly kept secret\, revealing for the first time that the man who pulled the trigger is one of six cops accused in a federal police brutality case stemming from an incident in 2008.

They employ multiple tactics and creative strategies\, including cash register exorcisms\, retail interventions\, cell phone operas combined with grassroots organizing and media activism.
