SUMMARY:Exhibition at the Underground Gallery with Agricultural Stewardship Association: "Kids\, Farm\, Photography: Connecting with the Land"
DESCRIPTION:Connecting with the Land (on view from March 22 – June 15\, 2013)  is a photography exhibit that lets us experience local farms through the eyes of youth. The photos were taken during photography classes at farms in Rensselaer and Washington counties. The Farm Photography for Kids is a program by the Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA) a community-supported land trust dedicated to protecting our local farmland from encroaching development. High school students in photography classes visited rural farms in Rensselaer and Washington counties\, while urban youth involved in the Capital District Community Gardens Produce Project documented their 8th Street Farm in Troy and Soul Fire Farm in Grafton. With special guests from the Produce Project and Agricultural Stewardship Association.  \n\n\n\nReception food prepared by Produce Project and KitchenSanctuary.

DESCRIPTION:Dirty Wars: The World Is a Battlefield\, author Jeremy Scahill is the National Security Correspondent for the Nation magazine and the author of the New York Times best-seller Blackwater: The Rise of the World’s Most Powerful Mercenary Army (Nation Books\, 2007). He is the writer\, with David Riker\, and a producer of the documentary feature film Dirty Wars–which will be released by IFC Films throughout North America in June 2013. Dirty Wars (2013) is a look inside America’s new covert wars\, in which foot soldiers operate daily across the globe with orders from the White House to do whatever is necessary to hunt down and capture or kill those designated as enemies. This event is co-sponsored by Bethlehem Neighbors for Peace\, Women Against War\, Project SALAM and the National Coalition to Protect Civil Freedoms\, Albany chapter.
