Her work has been awarded the Deadline Club Award for Independent Digital Reporting; the South Asian Journalist Association’s Daniel Pearl Award for Outstanding Reporting on South Asia; a Livingston Award finalist in International Reporting; and shared the Online News Association award for “General Excellence in Online Journalism”; the Gannett Foundation Award for Innovative Investigative Journalism; and an Emmy nomination in New Approaches to Documentary Film.
