DESCRIPTION:Join journalist Chet Hardin for a workshop on the techniques of investigative journalism. Hardin is known for his groundbreaking coverage of NXIVM for the Capital Region weekly Metroland. He co-authored the book\, The Program: Inside the Mind of Keith Raniere and the Rise and Fall of NXIVM with Toni Natalie and will be giving a book-talk later in the evening.  \n\n\n\nBe The Media! workshops teach multimedia skills to community members to develop urgently needed independent local voices. Our goal is to empower the public through independent media making\, supplying them with the tools to tell their own stories through different mediums of media including radio\, video and journalism.

His book\, The Program: Inside the Mind of Keith Raniere and the Rise and Fall of NXIVM\, is a jaw-dropping insider look into the world of the so-called “Hollywood Sex Cult” NXIVM. Written by Toni Natalie (Patient Zero) with help from Chet Hardin\, it chronicles the rise of enigmatic cult leader\, Keith Raniere.

DESCRIPTION:Let Nikki Rogers guide us in yoga practice dedicated to healing arts and mindfulness. Nikki has devoted the past decade of her professional life to promoting the health\, and wellbeing of the community of Albany. She began her personal journey into yoga in 2005 and in 2012 a 200-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training opened the door to her dream of sharing yoga with the Albany community as a pathway to stress relief and a healthy lifestyle. Nikki’s classes could be described as “beginner plus.” She designs her classes specifically to be done by people with little experience with the practice\, while still providing a challenge to all skill levels. Linking breath and movement for a relaxing practice\, Nikki safely guide students into poses and tailors each session to the individual needs of each of her classes.
