DESCRIPTION:We are investigating lead in North Central Troy\, NY! Come to this public meeting to learn how YOU can be a citizen scientist\, using easy DIY kits to test soil for lead contamination. \n\n\n\nAt this hands-on\, participatory event\, you will: \n\n\n\n\nLearn why we’re taking action on soil lead\n\n\n\nMake a map together of places where we interact with soil (playgrounds\, gardens\, empty lots\, etc.)\n\n\n\nFind out what you can do about contaminated soil – with a special presentation from the Radix Ecological Sustainability Center\n\n\n\nLearn how to collect and prepare soil samples for testing\n\n\n\nSign up for a FREE soil testing workshop that will take place on June 17\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis special event is a joint project of NATURE Lab and the Our Soil team at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (https://oursoil.wp.rpi.edu/). \n\n\n\nThe event on June 3 is free and open to the public.
