DESCRIPTION:Community Radio Days take place on the first Monday of every month\, bringing interested and producing correspondents together to discuss grassroots news\, story ideas\, share experiences\, and create community. Hudson Mohawk Magazine is for everyone. Drop by to see what it’s all about.  \n\n\n\nHudson Mohawk Magazine (HMM) is a volunteer-produced\, local news hour that provides sanctuary for the discussion of topics affecting our communities. Our program builds community in Troy and the surrounding Capital Region through broad grassroots participation. \n\n\n\n3:00pm: Doors open. Producers come in and work on projects in our computer lab. We offer light beverages and snacks.4:30pm: Established producers and newcomers gather around the conference table to discuss HMM and how we do what we do. Discussions often have a theme such as interview tactics\, outreach\, editing\, structuring a story\, etc. 6:00pm: See a live recording of HMM. Hear the variety of stories on our program in real time\, and see how hosts and engineers in action. 7:07pm: Join our weekly programming meeting where producers come together to program the week ahead. Meet our team\, and share your ideas for for stories.  \n\n\n\nDo you like to tell stories? Are you interested in reporting on issues you care about? Do you want to engage with your community? Do you have questions for decision makers? Are you interested in amplifying important issues of social and environmental issues? Do you like sound engineering? Shub! Born Dan General\, he is a Mohawk\, turtle clan of the Six Nations of the Grand River located in Ontario\, Canada. His latest album War Club (2020) was released to critical acclaim during the pandemic\, featuring collaborations with other indigenous and BIPOC artists like Snotty Nose Rez Kids\, Boogát\, Fawn Wood\, and Phoenix Pagliacci to name a few. DJ Shub won the 2022 JUNO award for Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year\, and previously won Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2014 (with A Tribe Called Red).  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJordan Taylor Hill gives captivating performances & workshops that bring the vibrant spirit of West African music and dance to your doorstep.
