This market features 30 vendors and participatory LIVE community quilt making provided by our beneficiary\, Project Linus.  \n\n\n\nThis is an INDOOR market which will have a mask-only hour and free KN-95 masks available for all attendees\, from 11AM – 12PM.This market’s beneficiary is Project Linus’s Albany & Rensselaer Counties Chapter. Their mission is to provide love\, a sense of security\, warmth\, and comfort to children who are seriously ill\, traumatized\, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new handmade blankets and afghans\, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” \n\n\n\nSee Facebook event

DESCRIPTION:Looking for a meaningful way to stay involved with the Sanctuary at your own pace? Join us every third Wednesday from 5–7PM for our monthly volunteer day. RSVP by sending an email to Alivija@mediasanctuary.org \n\n\n\nWe’ll start with light refreshments and a tour (plus a little campus clean up) and get an in-depth introduction to a volunteer role that interests you – whether it’s helping in the garden\, setting up events\, cleaning shared spaces\, or spreading the word about our work! \n\n\n\nEach month has a different role focus\, so come find what fits you best! No experience needed – just bring your curiosity and commitment to building a stronger community together. Meet at the main space 3361 6th Ave. \n\n\n\nNovember’s Volunteer Orientation will be around being a Sanctuary Social Butterfly! Come help us make signs of varying types– materials will be supplied. Being a part of our events has the perk of attending events for free. \n\n\n\nVolunteer Role Training Descriptions:\n\n\n\nSanctuary Scene Setter (event set up/breakdown): Help set up for concerts\, film screenings\, workshops\, and other events by placing tables\, chairs\, beverages/food or getting behind the camera to help document the event! Frequency: One day/ Occasional  \n\n\n\nSanctuary Sweeper (cleaning): Help us keep our spaces clean and safe by cleaning indoor spaces and/or doing a street sweep!Frequency: Drop in style\, Occasional  \n\n\n\nSanctuary Social Butterfly (outreach): Help share our message\, increase visibility of our work for more connections\, funding\, and attendance at our events Frequency: drop in\, prescheduled leading up to events \n\n\n\nCollard City Growers Garden: help tend to our garden by watering\, weeding\, and harvesting for and with our neighbors!Frequency: Occasional\, weekly

SUMMARY:White Pine Therapy
DESCRIPTION:Lead by Raei Bridges and Azuré Keahi\n\n\n\nJoin Raei Bridges and Azuré Keahi for an exploration of white pine. Participants will learn to make small containers out of white pine bark while learning about other medicinal aspects of this Vitamin C-rich tree. This event will run alongside The People’s Health Sanctuary November Healing Day at the Sanctuary’s main space.  \n\n\n\n\nRegister\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhite Pine Therapy is one part of a workshop series called Strands of Regeneration. Started by artists Ellie Irons and Azuré Keahi\, Strands of Regeneration is an eco-socially engaged project rooted in participatory art and creative practice centered on reciprocity\, building connections between humans\, the land and more-than-human life. Hosted on the Sanctuary’s inner city Eco Art Trail\, these workshops offer an opportunity to learn from local artists and makers whose creative practices are intertwined with care for land. Together\, we will weave plant fibers and other strands into art and objects from natural materials as an act of care and reverence for earth\, celebrating how this cycle of care supports our movements. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitator Bio:  \n\n\n\nRaei Bridges (they/them) is the founder of Black&Wild\, an organization dedicated to creating transformative experiences in nature. At the helm\, Raei orchestrates mindful wilderness trips and ancestral skills campouts specifically tailored for Black\, Indigenous\, & People of Color in the Northeast. Their work at Black&Wild is intended to support folks of the global majority to rekindle their wild animal self\, take more time to play\, and find their own personal pathway to attunement with the natural world. Raei’s work de-centers heady intelligence and seeks to uplift intuitive ways of knowing and being in kinship with the natural world. Black&Wild creates space to rest\, recenter\, and remember our wildness.  \n\n\n\n\n\nStrands of Regeneration is supported by the Arts Center of the Capital Region’s Arts Thrive Grow grant program. Arts Thrive and Grow has been funded by New York State\, Kathy Hochul\, Governor. We thank Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins for her extraordinary commitment and leadership\, and our elected officials who represent our grantmaking region: Senators Jake Ashby and Neil D. SUMMARY:PHS Healing Day
DESCRIPTION:For the remainder of the year\, People’s Health Sanctuary will host monthly Healing Days at the Sanctuary main space\, offering community acupuncture\, herbal remedies from the Community Apothecary\, a nourishing one pot meal\, and a place to connect. All offerings will be donation based/sliding scale\, so pay whatever you can— and bring a friend! PHS will be continually donating 50% of all donations to CRSC. The November 21 Healing Day will also include the Strands of Regeneration workshop White Pine Therapy. \n\n\n\nMonthly\, 4-7 pm; dates include 10/17\, 11/21\, and 12/19.
