The Northeast Family and Child Society has a vision of America beind a country where every child is healthy and safe, and all children having the support from a caring family that will let them live up to their full potential. The Northeast Family and Child Society would like to see all children grow into responsible adults that can make positive contributions to both family and society. The mission of the organization is to protect children, preserve families, and strengthen the communities in which we serve. Almost all of the children involved in the Northeast Family and Child Society lives in poverty. Over 80% of the children are white and have a working parent. Children that live in poverty are more than twice as likely to be abused or neglected, three times as likely to live in substandard housing, and eight times as likely to not have enough food. They are worn down by fighting a chronic war against sickness, famliy breakdown, neighborhood and family violence, and drug. The Northeast Family and Child Society thrives to help these poverty-stricken children in order to give them the right path in order to create a better future community.
