The Rensselaer County Summer Youth Employment Program provides income-eligible youth, ages 14-19, with opporunities to gain meaningful jobs skills throughout the summer through employment with certain organizations. The Summer Youth Employment teens came to the Sanctuary and helped with certain project, from media to community outreach to gain valuable skills that can be used to help them in their job search. This program gives youth the right idea about the job search, and important experience that can be put towards their future resumes. One specific program the organization helped with was the Found Art Mural at Hot Spot, the local Jamaican resturaunt. The group helped the artist create a gorgeous mural to help brighten the community of 6th Avenue.
