Jun Yasuda: Buddhism and Nuclear Bombs

As a child, Jun-san Yasuda, a Buddhist nun and the founder of the Grafton Peace Pagoda, read 1,200 year old Buddhist texts that spoke of the ephemeral nature of life. Today, she lives and works for the goal of peace and compassionate awareness of human suffering on the Peace Pagoda land. She engages the community around her in many walks across the country for environmental protection and the need for disarmament. HMM correspondent Meghan Marohn sat down with Jun-san to discuss her planning of a ceremony to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
