Reflections

What a great 1st day we had!

Andrew:

I am really excited for all these new faces, stories, and potential.  It is so amazing to see how young people open up in a place that is so different from school.

Diamond Young:
I loved it!  J  This is going to be the first step to making myself into who I wanna be and what I wanna do with my life!

Brian Jones:

The atmosphere here is welcoming and the diversity is refreshing.  We all have a lot to learn from one another and all parties seem to be receptive and ambitious.  The potential of this place shines bright as we come together to create.

Pat Harris:

Today I learned how amazing people are.  I know struggle but not like they know struggle.  These kids are amazing and helping them is all I can think about doing.  Today marks the day that all of our lives change.

Roger Smith:
    1.    I love how we sit down and talk about ourselves.
    2.    I like how the building looks.
    3.    Learned how to work a camera.
    4.    Found out a lot about my friends that I didn’t know.

Antonio Pabon:

My second impression is that it seems a lil’ more organized.   Since I did this last season I don’t have anything to say besides sweeeeet!

Put all those E’s on the blog.

  Thomas Rodgers:

Excited to make a movie.  This is peace.

I like the stairs in the bathroom

Brianna Sorriento:
Today, my friend Lindsay Bystroff invited me to come here; she always gets me into cool things, so I tagged along!  Coming here, I didn’t know what to expect, but when I walked in , I found a group of people who love to do something and are doing something about it.  I feel a passion should be carried out, if not, it’s just a dream!  Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to make movies, whether it be for fun or for anything else.  Finding this, well, being invited here actually makes me glad.  I’m pretty sure I’m going to like doing this program and I can’t wait to get started.  FICTION!  Reality is cool too, but the unreal is better.  I  just feel when things are unreal, there’s more of a passion and dream because people may believe in something more than what they may have.  Everyone wants more than this world has to offer… I know I do.

Lindsay Bystroff:
Walking into the Sanctuary today I couldn’t help but smile.  I know, it sounds cheesy, but I have been looking for a long time for a place like this, a place I can do something that makes a difference.  Listening to people’s stories today moved me, and I want to help these stories to be told.  I think this is because I feel obliged to make something of myself.  I don’t have many problems in my life.  God (or whatever) blessed me with such a good life, but it hurts me when I see friends suffering with things I can’t relate to.  I like to help people.  I want to feel like I have a reason, a purpose, to live, and I don’t know, Youth Media sounds like a great place for me to start.  J
